Beyond the Building on Thanksgiving
On Thanksgiving day many Henderson employees exemplified our motto of Beyond the Building.
The first being the group of dedicated employees working on the Lipton Tea Steel Platforms project in Suffolk, Virginia. This project team not only worked on Thanksgiving day, but also worked through the night and the entire Thanksgiving weekend.
Henderson, Inc. 17th Annual Woodcut
Saturday November 17, 2012 Henderson, Inc. participated in our 17th annual woodcut to support our local Williamsburg community. The woodcut is an event where employees and their families spend a day splitting, loading, and delivering firewood to local families in need. This event is always held the Saturday before Thanksgiving as Henderson’s “Thank You” and opportunity to give back to the community. Over the years we have delivered more than 350 loads of wood to local families in need and shared in great team-building experiences.
Thank you Henderson Veterans
With Veteran’s Day being this past Sunday, November 11th, Henderson would like to take this opportunity to thank all veterans who are serving or have served in the United States military and their families.
We’d also like to recognize our employees who are serving or have served in the military. Henderson is honored to employ veterans and recognizes the value they bring to our team. They are disciplined, hardworking team players.
Williamsburg Landing Site Visit
Henderson, Inc. hosted a site visit on Wednesday, November 7th at our Williamsburg Landing Renovation project for some of our office staff. They got a chance to see some of the hard work going into the project first hand, instead of just hearing about it.

This is an interesting question for the “new” guy to answer. While I have only been here at Henderson for seven months, I have been working in the construction industry for almost 40 years.
USCG Rescue Swimmer Training Facility Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Wednesday, October 17th, representatives from Henderson, Inc. attended the ribbon cutting ceremony marking the completion of the new Rescue Swimmer Training Facility in Elizabeth City, Nc. Henderson, Inc. CEO Pete Henderson, Vice President Leslie H. Schultz, Project Manager Josiah Goins and Project Superintendent Karl Schultz were in attendance as well as NC Congressman G.K. Butterfield, and NC Senator Richard Burr.
Henderson, Inc. Bowling Competition
Henderson, Inc. recently hosted a company meeting in conjunction with a bowling competition the evening of Thursday, October 11th. The event was held at The AMF Bowling Lanes in Williamsburg, Va.
HRSD Columbus Day Golf Outing
Henderson, Inc. recently sponsored a foursome in the Hampton Roads Sanitation District’s (HRSD) 27th Annual Columbus Day Golf Outing, which was held on Monday, October 8th.
The tournament was held at the Cypress Creek Golfer’s Club in Smithfield, Va. Henderson’s foursome was made up of Site Estimator Peter Henderson, C.F.O. Jake Liebler, Project Superintendent Mac McFerrin and Project Manager Brian Schultz.
Williamsburg Landing Renovation Team Appreciation Lunch
Henderson hosted a Team Appreciation Lunch at Williamsburg Landing on September 28th for everyone on the Williamsburg Landing Renovation project. We had over 100 people attend and the lunch was held to express our appreciation of the successful completion of Phase 1!
The Henderson project team, including subcontractors and suppliers, enjoyed lunch prepared by Henderson, Inc. as well as project architect Guernsey Tingle Architects.
Colonial Heritage Community Foundation 1st Annual Charity Golf Classic
Henderson, Inc. was a hole sponsor and sponsored two foursomes at the Colonial Heritage Community Foundation’s (CHFC) 1st Annual Charity Golf Classic, which was held on Friday, September 14th.
Henderson’s two foursomes included: IT Manager Bryan Walls, Project Superintendents Tommy Warren, Frank Hudik, Mac McFerrin, and Steve Montgomery, Field Personnel Ryan Bowden, and Mark Layne, and a subcontractor, Greg Abel.
